Detailed Process

From first contact to final transaction, our buying and selling process is designed for speed, transparency, and zero surprises. Here is exactly what to expect at every step.

1

Initial Inquiry & Needs Assessment

Contact us by phone, email, or the quote form above. Tell us whether you are buying or selling, your approximate quantity, your location, and any special requirements such as food-grade certification, UN/DOT markings, or specific valve configurations. The more detail you provide, the faster and more accurate your quote will be. We will also ask about your timeline so we can allocate inventory or transportation resources appropriately.

2

Quote Generation & Pricing

Within one business day — often within a few hours — our team reviews your request and generates a detailed quote. For buyers, the quote includes unit price by grade, delivery cost estimate, and applicable volume discounts. For sellers, the quote reflects current market value for the container type, condition, and previous contents. All pricing is itemized and transparent. There are no hidden processing fees or surprise deductions at pickup.

3

Inventory Confirmation (Buyers) or Container Assessment (Sellers)

For buyers, we confirm available stock matches your specification and place a hold on the quantity you need. For sellers, we may request photos of the containers to confirm condition, verify previous contents from your records, and determine any special handling needs. This step protects both parties and ensures the final transaction goes smoothly without renegotiation.

4

Purchase Order & Agreement

Once the quote is accepted, we issue a simple purchase agreement or purchase order confirmation. This document locks in the price, quantity, delivery or pickup date, payment terms, and any applicable guarantees. For recurring customers, we often operate on standing terms that eliminate paperwork for every transaction. New customers receive a straightforward one-page agreement.

5

Logistics Coordination

Our transportation team schedules pickup or delivery to match your timeline. For buyers, containers are loaded, secured, and dispatched from our facility with full tracking. For sellers, we dispatch a truck to your location, handle all loading with our crew, and leave your facility clean. We coordinate around your operating hours, dock availability, and any site-specific access requirements.

6

Inspection & Quality Verification (Buyers)

Every container shipped to a buyer has already completed our full inspection and grading process. Each unit is tagged with its grade, cleaning status, and any relevant certifications. The manifest that ships with your order lists every unit by serial number so you can verify receipt against what was agreed. If anything arrives that does not match the agreed specification, we make it right immediately.

7

Payment Processing

For buyers, payment is processed according to agreed terms — net 30 for established accounts, or prepayment for new customers. We accept ACH, wire transfer, check, and major credit cards. For sellers, we process payment within three business days of pickup completion and container verification. Payment is made by your preferred method with a clear remittance statement.

8

Post-Transaction Support & Relationship Building

After the transaction closes, we follow up to ensure everything met expectations. For ongoing buyers, we set calendar reminders to check in before your next reorder cycle. For sellers, we discuss whether a scheduled pickup program would benefit your operations. Our goal is not a one-time transaction — it is a long-term supply chain partnership that saves you money and administrative effort year after year.

Volume Discount Tiers

The more you buy, the better your per-unit price. Our volume tier program rewards consistent purchasers and makes bulk procurement significantly more cost-effective than buying from multiple sources.

Pricing Transparency

We believe you deserve to understand exactly what you are paying for. Our pricing model is simple, documented, and free of hidden charges.

How Buying Prices Are Set

Reconditioned tote prices are based on grade (A, B, or C), size (275 or 330 gallon), previous contents category, and certification level. Grade A units are closest to new condition. Grade B units have minor cosmetic wear with full functionality. Grade C units are structurally sound but show visible wear. New virgin totes are priced separately based on manufacturer and specification.

How Selling Prices Are Set

When we buy your used IBCs, we assess current secondary market demand, the cost of reconditioning the specific container, previous contents (which affects cleaning complexity), and your quantity. Prices fluctuate with market conditions, but we always give you a firm quote that is honored at pickup — no downward renegotiation after the truck arrives.

What Is Always Included

Our buy prices for totes include: the unit itself, our standard inspection certificate, and delivery coordination. Delivery cost depends on distance and quantity. Our sell prices for your containers include: free pickup for qualifying quantities, no cleaning requirement, and a remittance statement with every payment. We never charge administrative fees or processing surcharges.

What Can Affect the Final Price

For buyers: rush delivery, non-standard certification packages, or specialty configurations add to the base unit price — always disclosed upfront. For sellers: containers with hazardous previous contents, severe structural damage, or locations outside our direct service area may carry pickup fees or lower buy prices — again, always disclosed before any commitment is made.

Case Studies

Real-world examples of how our buying and selling services delivered measurable results.

Buying — Food & Beverage

Regional Food Manufacturer Reduces Packaging Costs by 34%

A mid-sized Ohio-based manufacturer of liquid food ingredients was purchasing new IBC totes at full list price from a single supplier, spending approximately $140,000 annually on containers. After switching to our Grade A reconditioned tote program with a net-30 standing order, they reduced per-unit cost by 34% and established a buyback arrangement for empties. Total first-year savings exceeded $47,000. They now run a zero-waste container program — buying, using, and selling back in a continuous cycle.

Selling — Chemical Distribution

Chemical Distributor Converts Surplus into $18,000 Revenue

A Pennsylvania chemical distributor had accumulated 220 used IBC totes over two years — containers from inbound product that were cluttering their yard and representing a disposal liability. After contacting us, we assessed the containers, quoted a purchase price within 24 hours, and scheduled pickup across three visits over two weeks. The distributor received $18,400 in total payment and recovered approximately 4,000 square feet of yard space. They now have a quarterly scheduled pickup program to prevent future accumulation.

Buying — Agriculture

Agricultural Cooperative Scales Up for Peak Season with Same-Week Delivery

A Midwest agricultural cooperative needed 96 IBC totes for liquid fertilizer storage before the spring planting window — a timeline that left them with less than a week of lead time. We confirmed stock, processed the order as two full truckloads, and delivered within 4 business days using our Zone 1 fleet and a regional partner carrier. The cooperative met their season-start deadline, and volume pricing on two simultaneous truckloads reduced their per-unit cost by 18% compared to their previous supplier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often from buyers and sellers.

What is the difference between Grade A, B, and C reconditioned totes?

Grade A totes are in near-new condition — the bottle is clear or lightly tinted with no significant scratches, the cage is straight with no bent bars, the valve and fittings are new or near-new, and the pallet is solid. Grade B totes have minor cosmetic wear: light scratches on the bottle, minor dents on the cage that do not affect structural integrity, and possibly some surface rust on the cage exterior. Grade C totes are fully functional but show more visible wear — the bottle may be cloudy, the cage may have repaired dents, and the pallet may have some wear. All three grades are leak-tested and certified functional.

Do I need to clean my IBCs before selling them to you?

No. You do not need to clean your containers before we pick them up. We have our own cleaning facility and the cost of cleaning is factored into our purchase price. Simply make sure containers are as empty as reasonably possible — bulk residue left in containers can affect the buy price for hazardous or specialty previous contents, but standard soap, food products, or water-based chemicals require no special preparation from your side.

What is the minimum quantity I can buy or sell?

There is no minimum quantity for buying — we sell single units. For selling, we will buy a single container, though free pickup typically requires a minimum of 5–10 units depending on your location. For sellers with fewer than 5 units in our non-direct-service zones, we can arrange carrier pickup but a small logistics fee may apply. Contact us and we will work out the best option regardless of quantity.

How quickly can I get containers after placing an order?

For buyers in our Zone 1 direct-service area (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, Kentucky), in-stock containers are typically dispatched within 1–2 business days of order placement. For Zone 2 and 3 buyers, add 2–5 transit days depending on carrier routing. Rush orders can sometimes ship same day — call us directly to discuss. We always confirm your estimated delivery date before dispatch.

Are your reconditioned totes safe for food-grade applications?

Yes, provided you select food-grade certified units. Not every reconditioned tote is food-grade — the certification depends on previous contents, cleaning protocol, and HDPE bottle condition. Food-grade units in our inventory have been cleaned using FDA-compliant sanitizing agents, and the cleaning is documented. Always specify food-grade at the time of inquiry so we can pull from the appropriate inventory pool.

Can I get UN/DOT certified totes for shipping regulated materials?

Yes. UN/DOT recertification is available on qualifying reconditioned totes. The UN marking indicates that the container has been tested and certified to meet international packaging standards for hazardous materials in transport. Certified units carry a surcharge over standard reconditioned pricing, and we provide the full certification documentation package. Not all totes qualify for recertification — we assess each unit individually.

What happens if a container I buy arrives damaged?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage. We will determine whether the damage occurred before or during transit. In either case, we make it right: we either send a replacement unit on the next available dispatch, issue a credit against your account, or process a refund — your choice. We file any carrier claims on your behalf so you do not have to deal with that process.

Do you offer long-term supply contracts?

Yes. For businesses with predictable, recurring IBC needs, we offer supply contracts that lock in pricing, guarantee inventory availability, and establish customized delivery schedules. Contract terms range from 6 months to 3 years and typically include volume commitments in exchange for our best pricing tiers, priority processing, and a dedicated account manager. Contact us to discuss whether a supply contract makes sense for your operation.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For purchases, we accept ACH bank transfer, wire transfer, company check, and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Credit card payments may carry a small processing fee for large orders. For sellers, we pay by ACH, wire, or check — your preference specified at the time of transaction. We do not accept cash or money orders.
